Waking Up in the Land of Glitter: A review at Libros To Read

Waking Up in the Land of Glitter
Kathy Cano-Murillo
Grand Central Publishing
ISBN: 978-0-446-50924-4

Kathy Cano-Murillo, better known as The Crafty Chica, has just released her first novel, Waking Up in the Land of Glitter.  I received an ARC (advanced reading copy) from the publisher, Grand Central Publishing (a division of Hatchette Book Group, Inc.) for agreeing to review the book as part of the book's blog tour.

The premise (back cover):

The world's biggest craft competition has come to Arizona, and there's a lot on the line for Star, Chloe and Ofelia--careers, families, futures.  For a shot at their dreams, these three very different women will unite.  If they can set aside their differences, they'll find a strength they never knew they had, and learn that friendship, like crafting, is truly an art form.

If Amy Sedaris and Ugly Betty teamed up to rewrite The Friday Night Knitting Club, you'd have this hilarious, heartwarming debut novel from "Crafty Chica" Kathy Cano-Murillo.

I think that last quote sums up the book pretty well, but if you want to see my full review, please check out my brand new Book Review blog:

Waking Up in the Land of Glitter is now available at your favorite bookstore!
