Today I'm honored to share with you an audio interview with author Robert Renteria.

Renteria's book From the Barrio to the Board Room (Writers of the Round Table Press, 2008) inspired the creation of the From the Barrio Foundation, as well as a state standard-based curriculum.

More than 80 schools, libraries, organizations and facilities around the U.S. have implemented the curriculum along with the books to support their at-risk youth communities.

Mi Barrio,  a graphic novel (comic book) adaptation of From the Barrio to the Board Room was written to support elementary level students and other readers who will benefit from the message but who might not be able to access the 7th grade reading level of the full book.
